MFC with hydraulics: The future, part 2!

VBG’s acclaimed Multi Function Coupling, which integrates mechanical, electrical and pneumatic coupling and uncoupling of truck to trailer in a single automatic motion, is now taking another big step forward: MFC with hydraulics will be launched at the IAA Commercial Vehicles in September!

“After being on the market for just over a year, an enormous amount of interest is still being shown in MFC! We have received extremely positive feedback from both hauliers and their drivers regarding MFC, which considerably improves safety and comfort.
A question we always get asked is, ‘When will we get a version with hydraulic connection also?’ Well, here it is - it will be introduced at the IAA Commercial Vehicles fair in September,” says Gunnar Nyvaller, Brand Manager for VBG Group Truck Equipment AB.

The patented MFC system is based on a completely new type of mechanical coupling in which connection devices for electricity, pneumatics and now also hydraulics are integrated. The coupling is aligned using ultra-sound sensors which send signals to an easily-read display on the dashboard. All the connections are then made fully automatically without the driver needing to leave the cab.

“Now that we have also included hydraulics connection in MFC, we expect to broaden our market base considerably, for example, to construction vehicle operators since this type of work often entails a lot of coupling and uncoupling. The time saving incorporated already in the original MFC, which can amount to an hour or more a day, will now be increased still further,” concludes Gunnar Nyvaller.
